Summer is Pitta season

Pitta represents fire and transformation.  It drives the digestion of everything we eat, see, hear, feel.  In a balanced state it can be our best friend; but imbalanced ?  Look Out.

Signs of pitta imbalance are skin rashes, IBS, GERD,  flashes of hot temper….

Ways to imbalance pitta:  excess alcohol, recreational drugs, spicy, salty and sour foods, exercising in the heat of the day, repressing your feelings, engaging in frustrating activities, wearing tight restrictive clothes.

Ways to balance pitta:  eat primarily sweet, bitter and astringent tastes, ie. plenty of greens, and whole grains and favor spices like cardamon, coriander, cilantro, and saffron.

Healthy green mustard spinach plant.

Eat plenty of fresh juicy fruit,

Green limes some cut in half to reveal orange yellow center.

Organic limes & Vitamin C

infuse 2 liters of water with mint and sip throughout the day,

Blue bear lake with mountain range in the background.

take a swim in a cool pool or the ocean, go surfing for exercise,

take a moonlight stroll or sit quietly and gaze at the moon in the evening before bed,

think  pleasant and sweet thoughts and give thanks every day for all that is good in your life.
