NeuroSoma® is affecting health and well-being through muscle tissue. The name NeuroSoma® was given to bodywork taught by Tamsin Stewart based on the work of Thomas Griner.
In practicing NeuroSoma® I address hypertonic muscle spasm by stimulating unresponsive feedback nerve endings in the muscle spindle.
Thomas Griner is a multidiscipline engineer and chiropractor by education. It was during his chiropractic education that he discovered how stimulating muscle tissue with a fingertip modality all his own that positive response to this stimulus was widespread. Realizing that many chronic physical problems are a result of hypertonic (overly spastic) muscles that can be reversed he set out to develop a precise body-work to address this issue.
As Thomas says in the intro of his book What’s Really Wrong With You, this work is not a quick-fix. “Working with muscle is an art.”
It is with this attitude that I approach my NeuroSoma® practice.
I am grateful to Thomas for his unending curiosity as well as his generosity of time, spirit and vast knowledge that has contributed to deepening my understanding of muscles, spindles and how proper manipulation can have a profound effect on a person’s health and comfort. By helping contracted muscles “reboot” to a healthy state, I have now helped hundreds of people overcome chronic debilitating pain and/or lack of proper muscle function.
I would also like to acknowledge Tamsin Stewart. Her dedication to creating a school to teach this work is commendable. Many thanks to both of them for teaching me a method to help so many muscle problems.
